Summary
It’s long been understood that heat has an effect on health, and in extreme cases can cause death. How to predict the size of this effect, and study which groups are most vulnerable, is only going to become more essential as our planet warms. This is not an easy problem – the set of potential factors is enormous, and many vary in both time in geography. In this project we’re pushing new ground in applying frontier AI models to this task, with the aim that intelligent and informed decisions can be made to prevent death from extreme heat.
